Even though no one ever reads this blog, I thought I'd record here my absolute confidence that the world will not end on May 21, 2011.  The religious literalists that don't understand the origins of the Bible have superimposed a thought world on those texts that would astound the people who wrote them.  I guarantee that we will be here on May 22 with the same challenges we have today.  And those who predict chaos between now and October 21 are just as wrong.  Come October 22, we'll still be here, struggling with how to be faithful and a blessing to those with whom we live.

Now, on May 22, when these latest predictors turn out to be wrong, remember that I was right.
